Flexible lamination or Braids
Flexible lamination or Braids
Flexible lamination or braids prevent the transmission of machine vibrations to the connection, but if undersized or in case of poor electrical contact/ erecting, they can create a hot spot.
The use of appropriate fasteners (screws, nuts, washers) is also crucial.
Whether in copper or aluminum, they ensure the electrical connection to the machines, allow for the expansion of conductors and/or enclosures, and facilitate erecting/expansion along two axes for flexible lamination and three axes for braids.
The contact surface of these parts is silver-plated, tinned, or bare. They also prevent the transmission of vibrations emitted by machines (alternators, transformers, cabinets, general circuit breakers/switches…).
Earthing-type braids
Earthing-type braids are used for electrical continuity or grounding between different parts of a removable enclosure, access hatches, or framework…
