The IPBs are fixed on frames, generally made of galvanized steel. They can be placed or suspended depending on the particular configuration of the installation site.

The frames are calculated to withstand the constraints imposed by the IPBs; wind, snow, earthquake, and especially the electrodynamic forces of short circuits. The interface between the IPBs and the frames is made using supporting rings that can allow the IPBs to expand freely in the longitudinal direction or, conversely, impose a fixed point depending on the configuration of the routing.

The IPBs must be electrically isolated to eliminate the risk of current circulation in the grounds of the plant.

This insulation is achieved using bases or insulating wedges that also guarantee the mechanical strength of the assembly.
